My Take on this Moisturinzing Conditioner, I LOVE me this conditioner, very moisturizing, it smells GREAT and it softens the hair, this conditioner for me is MASTER conditioner, it provides great slip, detangles the hair and is SUPER MOISTURIZING, it makes the hair so soft.
When I use this conditioner, I leave a little water in my hair, which I do when I use any conditioner, this is just me, then apply a generous amount of the humecto from roots to ends and ensure that my ends are saturated, I do little massage of the humecto on my scalp for say 3-5mins then I cover with a steam cap and sit under my ‘Aphrodite’ hard hood dryer for 30-40mins.
After I finish deep steam I will wash out and hair full of body (I have a lot of this already but even more), there is bouncy and it is so soft and moisturized and tangle free.
I then just add my leave ins and roller-set and back under my ‘Aphrodite’ at the end of it all my hair is

Affirm Relaxing System (step 4)

FiberGuard Normalizing Shampoo (STEP 4) is formulated with Avlon’s revolutionary Fiber Strengthening Complex (FSC), fruit extracts and ceramides that work to reinforce the structural integrity of hair while enhancing its visual properties. • Gently cleanses away oils and residual traces of relaxer from hair. • Verifies proper neutralization of hair with a built in color indicator. • Helps repair pre-existing damage. • Helps re-align and close cuticles • Aids in wet combing.
Benefits
• Lather turns from pink to white when normalization is complete.
• Tightens and realigns cuticles to a closed position.
• Detangles hair for easy wet combing.
• Helps hair resist styling damage.
• Infuses hair with a soft, silky texture.

My Take on the FiberGuard Normalizing Shampoo (STEP 4) – What is there that can be said about a normalizing shampoo lolz, it is suppose to get rid of the relaxer from the hair to prevent any further relaxing process. Well I have used a number of normalizing shampoo(s) in the past and they can not or compare to the way this normalizing shampoo feels on my hair and scalp! I find that this shampoo removes all the relaxer within 2-3 washes and I use a small amount as it lathers quickly with a small amount. It makes the hair feels soft and it feels moisturized at the same time, although I notice that it has ALS in it L, but I guest the Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Sugar Cane and Malus (Apple) Fruit - being few of the other ingredients, these will make up for the fact the ALS is one the ingredients. Nevertheless it makes the hair feels cleans and soft NEVER striped strand(s) of hair! And that is why I like this normalizing shampoo – A keeper!

Affirm Relaxing System (step 3)

I did a review yesterday on the relaxer I use for my hair, that review consisted of step 1 & 2, here is the step 3, well there is 3 steps 3, well you don't need all of the to be honest I kinda went a bit over board and bought all 3, but 1 of the 3 will do, I do like or prefer 2 of the 3 of step 3 lolz

Anyways these are what the step(s) 3 is above (a) the small tub is Affirm FiberGuard Positive Link Conditioner, (b) Affirm Sustenance Fortifying Treatment & (c). Affirm FiberGuard 5in1 Reconstructor.

Affirm Positive Link Conditioner (STEP 3) is a post chemical pH normalizer that restores hair to its proper pH of 4.5-5.5 after relaxer application. Thereby allowing the most effective penetration of micro and macro-conditioners). • For use on Medium to Coarse Hair. Benefits • Restores hair to its proper pH state. • Re-aligns, firms and seals cuticles to enhance shine. • Detangles, moisturizes and softens hair. • Prevents alkali and oxidation damage.
Benefits
• Restores hair to its proper pH state.
• Re-aligns, firms and seals cuticles to enhance shine.
• Detangles, moisturizes and softens hair.
• Prevents alkali and oxidation damage.

My Take on the (Affirm Positive Link Conditioner (STEP 3) - This treatment is just OK, dear I say I don’t fancy one of Avlon products, well this one is the one I am not too hot on to be honest, I don’t know why but this reminds me of the Motions CPR Critcal Repair Treatment, there is no slip, I find I have to leave a bit of water in my hair to get it to have that feel it should have on the hair – I am not too sure how to describe it – I will use it when I next relaxed and remember why it is sitting there.I don’t think I will buy again – it may work for you, but I am not really feeling this one!

Sustenance Fortifying Treatment (Step 3) is an advanced, high performance conditioner that contains Fiber Strengthening Complex (FSC), that penetrates deep within the hair shaft while cuticles are open immediately after rinsing of the relaxer. • Lipid Replenishing Molecules (LRMs), enter the hair fiber to replace natural shine properties depleted by chemical processing. • Special polymers realign, seal and smooth hair cuticles as it normalizes hair. • Micro-Molecular proteins and humectants penetrate deep within the hair shaft to help repair fiber damage while moisturizing and fortifying hair fiber. • Works to repair and strengthen damaged hair fibers.
Benefits
• Strengthens newly relaxed hair while replenishing lost moisture
• Helps hair resist breakage and shedding.
• Minimizes surface porosity.• Adds fullness and body to hair.
• Detangles hair easily for wet and dry combing.
• Leaves hair silky and shiny.

My Take on the (Sustenance Fortifying Treatment (Step 3) - I like this treatment very much, after I have completely washed out the relaxer I apply it GENEROUSLY to my scalp and to the jut relaxed area of my hair, and then focused on the ends of hair afterwards, I finger comb this treatment through my hair and let it sit on the hair for say 5mins and then rinse out. This treatment is blue in color and the thing I like about it is that is had slip to it and it soothes the scalp NOT TINGLES, soothes and adds silkiness to the just relaxed hair, it feels almost as if it has restore instantly restore strength to each fiber of hair that has just been processed.
This one is definitely a Keeper - I am very please and so is my hair!

Affirm 5 in 1 Reconstructor (STEP 3) is a unique blend of micro and macrofibrous conditioners that is applied immediately after rinsing the relaxer from the hair and before the Normalizing Shampoo. • While substantive conditioners are deposited well within the hair fiber, the hair is restored to its normal pH of the hair. (NOTE: Deep conditioning is still possible at this time because the upper mantle of the hair is still alkaline--approximate pH of 10.0--and the cuticles remain partially open). • For use on damaged, fine or limp hair. Also recommended as a deep penetrating moisturizing conditioner for regular reconstructive treatment services.
Benefits
• Re-aligns, seals and smooths cuticles.
• Minimizes porosity and restores hair to normal pH.
• Electronically repairs damaged areas within & along hairshaft by attachingto negatively charged (damaged) areas.
• Minimizes breakage and shedding.
• Minimizes porosity and smooths cuticles.
• Detangles hair.
• Imparts body and volume to fine, limp hair while adding shine.

My Take on (Affirm 5in1 Reconstructor (step3) - I like this treatment too this is yellow in color and the potency of this treatment is similar to the step 3 above, but has more slip to it, I carried out the same steps above if I choose to use to treatment instead, there is one different b/n the sustenance and the 5in1 the 5in1 has Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein as one of it’s top five ingredients, which is why I think the potency and the slip in comparison to these treatments are slightly different.
I am torn b/n which if these of these two treatments will be the ONE – I will update later ;)

Affirm FiberGuard Relaxing System (step 1&2)

For the next couple of weeks I will be doing a review on the product(s) I have used and also on products that are my staple(s).

I will start firstly with the relaxing system I use, the relaxer that I have been using for a few years now is the Affirm FiberGuard - they are two relaxing system in the Affirm range (a) the Affirm FiberGuard (I use this one as I have blonde highlights - and this is the new and improve formulae that is designed for hair that has been colour treated - then there is the original formula which is Affirm.

Preservo Strengthening Serum (STEP 1) is applied to the whole head just prior to relaxing to protect and condition hair during chemical processing. • Contains Fiber Strengthening Complex (FSC), a revolutionary conditioning complex exclusive to Avlon that penetrates deep within the hair shaft while cuticles are open during relaxing. • Consists of special strengthening and conditioning ingredients that minimize swelling, preserve strength and restore hair’s natural luster.

• Retards breakage and shedding.
• Helps hair retain tensile strength and elasticity.
• Can be used prior to color services.
• Decreases hair porosity.
• Helps weak, brittle hair ends become more pliable.
• Conditions hair as it moisturizes and adds volume.
• Imparts a smooth, silky feel to hair

FeaturesFiberGuard Creme Relaxer (STEP 2): • Conditions the hair before, during and after chemical processing. • Formulated with Avlon’s exclusive Fiber Strengthening Complex (FSC), which reinforces the hair fiber structure during relaxing. • Strengthening polymers in the relaxer creme penetrate hair fibers leaving hair with significantly more tensile strength and elasticity after relaxing. • Significantly less damaging than conventional relaxers. Benefits• Preserves up to 25% MORE of the hair’s strength compared to conventional relaxers.

Benefits

• Ideal solution for relaxing color-treated or damaged hair.
• Leaves hair healthy-looking and well-conditioned.
• Leaves hair silky-straight, easy to comb and perfectly prepared for styling.
• Provides glossy, free flowing, soft, silky styles

My take on this Relaxer:

I have been using this relaxer say for about 3yrs, I have used other Avlon ranged but decided later to swap over from my revious relaxer which was Soft & Beautiful (I have nothing bad to say about this relaxer) but decided that since I was using 80% plus of the keracare line I might as well use the relaxing system also.

I must say I am very please with the relaxer and the relaxer and the way it makes my hair feels after a relaxer; I mean i ahve thick hair anyways, this relaxer adds body and shine; the hair feels strong and looks remarkably good.

When I relax I part my hair in four sections (if you have not figured it out yet I DIY - been doing it for years now so I am happy and enjoying doing so - this suits me!). Then I apply section by section the preservo not to the new growth and the rest of the body of the hair I do not OVERLY damp the hair just to coat it lightly - I think it does protect me from over processing and I note I don't get any burns either.
